AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY TOOK PART IN THE PRESTIGIOUS FREEDOM OF THE CITY OF LONDON CEREMONY IN LONDON

A solemn closed ceremony for awarding one of the oldest civic honors in the United Kingdom — the Freedom of the City of London — was held at Guildhall, the historic administrative center of London. A representative of Amanzholov University participated in the event upon the personal invitation of Professor Glenn Agung Hole.

The history of this award dates back to the 13th century. Traditionally, it is granted to outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of trade, education, diplomacy, science, and international relations. Among the recipients of the award in different years were Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela, Florence Nightingale, Desmond Tutu, Tim Berners-Lee, Stephen Hawking, and Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Professor Glenn Agung Hole is an international expert and associate professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway in the fields of entrepreneurship, economics, and management, with more than 30 years of experience in innovation, digital transformation, academic cooperation, and mentorship. Since 2008, he has also actively cooperated with the University of East London, developing international academic exchange and interaction between educational and business environments.

It is especially noteworthy that Professor Hole is an honorary professor of Amanzholov University. He maintains active ties with Kazakhstan and pays special attention in his scientific and expert activities to issues related to the country’s development, education, entrepreneurship, and international cooperation.

The closed format of the ceremony emphasized the high level of trust and partnership between the parties. Amanzholov University consistently develops long-term cooperation with international partners, including universities in Norway, considering participation in such events as an important platform for expanding collaboration.

As part of further cooperation, Professor Hole is expected to visit Amanzholov University during the 2026–2027 academic year, where he will deliver lectures and hold meetings with students.

Amanzholov University sincerely congratulates Professor Glenn Agung Hole on this prestigious award and wishes him continued success in international activities and the development of academic cooperation.
