CYBERSECURITY CULTURE AND SAFE BEHAVIOR IN THE DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT DISCUSSED AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

In the Republic of Kazakhstan, particular attention is being paid to improving cybersecurity culture, digital literacy, and the development of safe behavior in the information environment.

As part of activities aimed at raising young people’s awareness of cybersecurity, Amanzholov University held a lecture entitled “Culture in the Context of Cybersecurity and Its Current State.”

Students of the Information Technology and Physics and Computer Science educational programs actively participated in the event. During the meeting, they not only learned about current issues in cybersecurity but also took part in discussions, shared their ideas, and suggested solutions to practical case studies.

Particular attention during the lecture was paid to recognizing cyber fraud. Students were introduced to the main warning signs of suspicious messages, phone calls, and online offers, as well as appropriate ways to respond in potentially dangerous situations. Participants discussed why it is important to critically evaluate incoming information, follow digital safety rules, and take responsibility for protecting personal data.

A separate part of the lecture focused on cybersecurity culture. Its main components were discussed, along with the principles of developing safe digital habits. The importance of being attentive to one’s actions online, using reliable methods to protect accounts, interacting cautiously with unknown sources, and continuously improving digital literacy was emphasized.

The practical focus of the event allowed students to apply the knowledge they gained while analyzing specific situations. This format contributed to the development of critical thinking and helped participants better understand how cybersecurity rules can be applied in everyday life, education, and future professional activities.

The lecture concluded with an open dialogue with students. Participants received answers to their questions and discussed current aspects of safe behavior in the digital environment.

Such events at Amanzholov University help students develop a responsible attitude toward digital technologies and improve their cybersecurity awareness. In a rapidly developing digital environment, this knowledge is becoming an important part of modern education and professional training.
