FIRST STEP INTO STUDENT LIFE: AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY HOLDS ORIENTATION WEEK FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS

Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University is continuing its orientation week for first-year students. Its main goal is to help new students confidently adapt to a new academic and social environment, become familiar with the University, and feel part of the wider student community.

As part of the programme, students are taking part in introductory meetings with the leadership and representatives of the Higher Schools, tours of academic buildings, and meetings with advisors and curators. First-year students are learning about the organisation of the educational process, the credit-based learning system, the development of individual study plans, course registration, and the use of the Platonus information system.

Particular attention is being paid to the opportunities available within student life. Students are being introduced to youth organisations and student clubs, social support measures, the B. Mamrayev Scientific Library, as well as internal regulations and the rules of residence in student dormitories.

An important part of the orientation programme will include inaugural lectures by leading University professors, activities focused on cyber culture and safe behaviour in the digital environment, as well as lectures on academic integrity.

The celebration of the Day of Knowledge will become a formal and memorable event marking the beginning of the new academic year and bringing together students and faculty members.

Orientation Week provides first-year students not only with essential information, but also with an opportunity to experience the University’s atmosphere, make new friends, discover areas of interest, and begin their student journey with confidence.
