HIGHER SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES HELD AN ORIENTATION MEETING FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS

An orientation meeting for first-year students was held at the Higher School of Humanities of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.

This year, 425 students were admitted to the Higher School of Humanities. For the new students, the meeting provided an opportunity to become acquainted with the School’s leadership, Heads of Departments, key areas of study, and the main features of the educational process.

The first-year students met with Slyambek Kalibekuly Orazalin, Dean of the Higher School of Humanities; Yerkebulan Baurzhanuly, Deputy Dean for Educational Affairs; Gulnar Kydyrbekovna Kapysheva, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies; Karlygash Turkistankyzy Barbosynova, Head of the Department of Kazakh and Russian Philology and Journalism; and Ayauly Kalymbekovna Nurbekova, Head of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social and Humanitarian Disciplines.

During the meeting, the first-year students were introduced to the activities of the Higher School of Humanities, its educational areas, and the work of its departments. The students also had an opportunity to learn more about the faculty members, the structure of the Higher School, and the organisation of the educational process.

Special attention was paid to the Platonus information system. The first-year students were informed about registration in the system, its main functions, and the procedure for using the platform as part of the educational process.

Such meetings help students take their first steps in university life, better navigate the educational environment, and receive answers to important organisational questions.
