NEW APPROACHES TO CAREER GUIDANCE DISCUSSED AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

How can career guidance become more modern, engaging, and effective? This question became the key focus of a meeting of the Career Guidance Council of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, chaired by Irina Vladimirovna Rovnyakova, Deputy Chairman of the Board – Vice Rector for Strategic Development and International Cooperation.

During the meeting, participants discussed updating approaches to working with prospective students, developing new formats of cooperation with schools, and introducing effective mechanisms to attract young people to the University.

Particular attention was paid to early career guidance for school students. The main goal is not only to introduce them to the University’s educational programs, but also to help them better understand the world of professions, assess opportunities for professional development, and make an informed choice about their future field of study.

Other priority areas included strengthening the practical component of career guidance activities, expanding partnerships with schools, and increasing the interest and involvement of prospective students in University life.

Following the meeting, the main areas for further work were identified. The key objective is to develop a modern and effective career guidance system that will enable the University to build sustainable engagement with prospective students while they are still at school.
