“PLASTIC-FREE DAY” ECO CHALLENGE HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY
First- to fourth-year students of the Russian-medium Ecology educational program at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University took part in the “Plastic-Free Day” environmental challenge.
The initiative is aimed at developing environmental awareness among young people, drawing attention to the problem of plastic pollution, and promoting conscious consumption. Its main goal is to encourage people to reduce the use of single-use plastic products in their everyday lives.
By taking part in the challenge, future environmental specialists emphasized the importance of responsible attitudes toward nature and their commitment to the principles of sustainable development. The students encouraged people to replace single-use plastic with reusable bags, water bottles, and containers, use natural resources responsibly, and adopt environmentally friendly habits in everyday life.
Students from all four years of study united around the idea of caring for the environment, clearly demonstrating that protecting nature begins with the personal choices of each individual.
Such initiatives help develop environmental thinking among young people, strengthen personal responsibility for the condition of the environment, and encourage an active civic position.
The students’ participation in the challenge is in line with the key priorities of the national Taza Qazaqstan environmental initiative, which is aimed at improving environmental awareness among the population and promoting responsible use of natural resources.
One day without plastic is a small step for each of us, but our combined efforts can make a major contribution to an environmentally sustainable future!
The motto of the Ecology students is: “Less Plastic – More Life! Let’s Protect Nature Together!”
