RESEARCH RESULTS OF AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY SCIENTISTS PRESENTED AT AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN ST. PETERSBURG

On October 28–29, 2026, the international scientific and practical conference “Customs Readings – 2026,” organized by the St. Petersburg Branch of the V.B. Bobkov Russian Customs Academy, was held in St. Petersburg. Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University was represented at the international scientific forum by Assel Anuarbekovna Apysheva, Head of the research project, and Alma Zhumagalikyzy Baiguzhinova, Senior Researcher.

The conference brought together representatives of the scientific and expert communities to discuss current issues in international trade, customs regulation, and economic cooperation.

On October 28, the University delegation took part in the plenary session entitled “Traditions and Innovations in the Activities of Customs Authorities.” The session was held at the Nevskaya Ratusha administrative and business complex. It was moderated by Vitaly Alexandrovich Onov, Deputy Director for Research at the St. Petersburg Branch of the Russian Customs Academy, and Inna Viktorovna Malysheva, Head of the Research Department and Leading Researcher of the Branch.

During the session, participants discussed prospects for the development of international trade, improvement of customs administration, and issues related to ensuring economic security. Particular attention was paid to the introduction of digital technologies and artificial intelligence into the activities of customs authorities.

On October 29, at the St. Petersburg Branch of the Russian Customs Academy, representatives of Amanzholov University delivered a presentation entitled “Development of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Economic Relations in the Dairy Products Market within the EAEU.” The study was based on the results of Kazakhstan’s foreign trade activities in dairy products.

The presentation covered the dynamics of import and export operations, the specific features of trade and economic cooperation among the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, ways to improve the competitiveness of domestic producers, and approaches to optimizing supply chain logistics. The research findings made it possible to identify promising directions for the development of Kazakhstan’s foreign economic relations in the context of Eurasian economic integration.

During the sectional sessions, the University representatives exchanged professional views with Russian researchers on economic integration, digitalization of foreign economic activities, and the strengthening of international trade cooperation. Zhaslan Altaiuly Yesmukhanov, Third Secretary of the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in St. Petersburg, also took part in the discussion.

On October 30, the delegation continued its research activities at the library of the Russian Customs Academy. University representatives reviewed scientific and educational publications in the fields of international trade, customs regulation, economic integration, and the development of logistics systems. The materials studied will serve as an additional information base for further research.

Participation in the international conference became an important stage in presenting the results of the research project on an international academic platform. It also provided an opportunity to expand professional contacts with Russian colleagues and identify prospects for further scientific cooperation. The materials collected during the research trip will be used to continue the research, prepare scientific publications, and develop practical recommendations aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the dairy products subsystem of Kazakhstan’s agro-industrial complex.

The research trip was organized within the framework of scientific project IRN AP26101867 “Enhancing the Competitiveness of the Dairy Products Subsystem of the Regional Agro-Industrial Complex in the Context of Digital Logistics,” implemented with grant funding from the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
