RESEARCH VISIT OF KAZAKHSTANI SCHOLARS TO BEIJING AS PART OF A SCIENTIFIC PROJECT
In August 2026, Kazakhstani scholars Professor Zhibek Berlibekovna Rakhmetulina and Researcher Yerzhan Bagdanovich Domalatov undertook a research visit to Beijing as part of the implementation of the project “Human Capital Management and Improving the Quality of Labour Resources in the Context of the Digital Economy.”
The main purpose of the research visit was to conduct project-related research, study China’s experience in the development of human capital, and expand international scientific cooperation.
During the visit, the scholars visited Peking University, Peking University Science Park, Guanghua School of Management, as well as the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the People’s Republic of China.
As part of their visits to educational, research, and innovation institutions, the scholars examined approaches to human capital development, interaction between universities and the innovation ecosystem, and the adaptation of educational programmes to the modern requirements of the labour market.
The field research provided an opportunity to explore practical approaches to workforce development in the context of digital transformation and to collect the necessary materials for a comparative analysis of the experience of Kazakhstan and China.
During the research visit, the scholars also worked with scientific library and information resources in Beijing. They collected academic publications, analytical reports, and statistical materials related to human capital, labour market transformation, and workforce development.
While staying in Beijing, on August 23, 2026, the project participants also took part in the elections of deputies to the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Voting took place at polling station No. 421, established at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the People’s Republic of China. Thus, while being outside Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstani scholars exercised their constitutional right to vote and participated in an important socio-political event for the country.
In addition, at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the People’s Republic of China, the scholars discussed prospects for further cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, the expansion of scientific and educational ties, as well as opportunities for applying international experience in the training of modern specialists.
As a result of the research, Domalatov Y.B. and Abylaikhanova T.A. prepared a scientific article entitled “Strategies for Developing Digital Competencies in Human Capital: A Comparative Analysis of Kazakhstan and China.”
The article was submitted for participation in the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference “Strategic Management of the Agri-Food Sector in the Conditions of Economic Globalization: Security, Innovations, Leadership,” organised by Poltava State Agrarian University in 2026.
