SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR FOR DOCTORAL STUDENTS: CURRENT ISSUES IN RESEARCH WORK

A scientific seminar for doctoral students of the 8D01701 Kazakh Language and Literature educational program was held at the Department of Kazakh and Russian Philology and Journalism.

During the seminar, participants discussed the results of doctoral students’ research work, dissertation preparation, and further directions of scientific research.

At the beginning of the event, graduating doctoral students presented reports on the progress of completing their dissertations and preparing for defense. Participants discussed the current state of their research, emerging issues, and the tasks that need to be addressed at the final stage of dissertation preparation.

The research results of second-year doctoral students were also reviewed separately. Particular attention was paid to the outcomes achieved and to further planning of research activities for the new academic year.

For first-year doctoral students, the main issues included clarifying the object, subject, and topic of their dissertation research, as well as determining its scientific direction. The discussion highlighted the importance of formulating research objectives correctly and building research work consistently from the earliest stages of dissertation preparation.

The scientific seminar was held in the format of a professional discussion, allowing doctoral students to present the results of their work, receive recommendations, and exchange views on further research.

Such seminars contribute to the systematic organization of doctoral students’ research activities, help identify key tasks in a timely manner, and create conditions for the high-quality preparation of dissertation research.

Scientific inquiry begins with a question, while meaningful results come from consistent and meticulous work.
