IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CHATGPT EDU PROJECT DISCUSSED AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

Amanzholov University took part in an online meeting chaired by Dinara Rinatovna Shcheglova, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the implementation of the ChatGPT Edu pilot project and the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into the higher education system.

Nurlana Bauyrzhanova, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, participated in the Zoom conference.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the interim results of the ChatGPT Edu project, which is being implemented through cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Qazaqstan Halqyna Public Foundation, Freedom Holding Corp., and OpenAI.

Particular attention was paid to the involvement of higher education institutions in the project, the level of platform usage among faculty members, and opportunities for applying artificial intelligence tools in teaching, learning, and research activities.

According to statistical data as of October 9, 2026, 576 participants from Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University were registered on the ChatGPT Edu platform.

During the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of the systematic integration of artificial intelligence technologies into the educational environment, the development of faculty members’ digital competencies, and the broader practical use of modern AI tools in academic and research activities.

Following the meeting, the need was highlighted to further increase the University’s participation in the pilot project, improve the effectiveness of ChatGPT Edu platform usage, and systematically develop digital solutions that contribute to enhancing the quality of higher education.
