JOIN THE “SAĞAN KITAP ARNADYM” CAMPAIGN AHEAD OF REPUBLIC DAY OF KAZAKHSTAN

Ahead of Republic Day of Kazakhstan, the nationwide “Sağan kitap arnadym” – “A Book for You” campaign is being launched as part of the “Reading Nation” marathon. The initiative is aimed at promoting reading, developing a culture of giving books, and strengthening interest in literature among young people and representatives of different generations.

Republic Day is an important national holiday symbolizing the history of the country, its national values, and its aspirations for the future. On this day, meaningful initiatives that bring people together, encourage the exchange of knowledge, and contribute to spiritual and cultural development acquire particular significance. One such symbolic gesture is giving a book as a gift – something that can inspire, introduce new ideas, and open the door to fascinating stories.

The main idea of the campaign is to give a book to a family member, friend, colleague, classmate, or fellow student together with a sincere personal message. Participants are encouraged to share the story behind their gift on social media, helping to promote a culture of reading and inspiring others to join the initiative.

School students, university students, teachers, parents, representatives of public organizations, project ambassadors, and everyone who supports the idea of developing a reading nation are invited to participate.

To take part, participants should choose a book – either a new one or a book from their personal collection in good condition. Where possible, preference is recommended for works included in the “Reading Nation” marathon list. A warm message may be written on the first blank page of the book, or a greeting card may be attached indicating the recipient, the donor’s name, and an explanation of why that particular book was chosen.

After presenting the gift, participants are encouraged to post a photo or short video on social media, tell others about the book, and share the story behind their choice. To support the campaign, participants should tag the official marathon account @kitap_oqityn_ult and use the hashtags #СағанКітапАрнадым #КнигаДляТебя #BookForYou #Republicday. Participants may also pass the initiative on to friends, colleagues, and acquaintances, inviting them to join the campaign.

Participation in the campaign is voluntary. Purchasing a new book is not required: a book from a personal collection in good condition can be an equally valuable and memorable gift. Educational institutions may also organize book exchanges, where participants bring one book and receive another in return.

The “Sağan kitap arnadym” campaign is an opportunity to celebrate Republic Day through a meaningful act of kindness, share favorite books, and remind others of the importance of reading in everyday life. A gifted book is not simply a sign of attention, but an opportunity to share knowledge, inspiration, and a love of literature.
