REPUBLICAN SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL WEBINAR TO BE HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

On October 14, 2026, the Department of Biology of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University will hold a republican scientific and methodological webinar entitled “Modern Methods for Studying the Resistance of Tree Species to Climate Change and Air Pollution: The Role of Dendrochronological Monitoring in Assessing the Condition of Urban Ecosystems.”

The event is organized as part of scientific project AP25794101, “Study of the Impact of Technogenic Factors and Climate Change on Tree Species Growing in Industrial Areas of East Kazakhstan Using Dendroindication Methods.”

The purpose of the webinar is to discuss modern methods of bioindication and dendroindication for assessing the condition of urban ecosystems, consider approaches to determining the resistance of trees to climate change and technogenic pollution, and develop practical recommendations for greening industrial cities.

The webinar program will include discussion of the following topics:

  • modern methods of bioindication and dendroindication for assessing the condition of urban green spaces;

  • methods for distinguishing the effects of climate stress and technogenic pollution based on the analysis of radial tree growth;

  • practical recommendations for selecting resistant tree species for greening industrial cities.

The webinar will be held in person and will include presentations followed by discussion. Online participation will also be available.
