TOLEN ABDIK’S NOVEL “PARASAT MAIDANY” DISCUSSED AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY AS PART OF THE “READING NATION” PROJECT

The Higher School of Humanities of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University hosted a literary discussion of Tolen Abdik’s work “Parasat Maidany” as part of the national “Reading Nation” project, implemented at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The meeting brought together third-year students of the Department of Kazakh and Russian Philology and Journalism. The discussion focused on questions of human nature, spiritual values, and the inner struggle between good and evil explored in the work.

During the discussion, students examined the theme of spiritual conflict unfolding within a person’s inner world and reflecting broader universal human issues. Participants reflected on the importance of reason, forgiveness, and compassion in human life, analyzed the thoughts of the main character, and discussed the complex moral questions that arise in his mind. The exchange of views made it possible to consider the work from different perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of its philosophical ideas.

The literary meeting was conducted by Aimgul Seiputanova, Candidate of Philological Sciences and Associate Professor at the Department of Kazakh and Russian Philology and Journalism, and Raushangul Mukusheva, Candidate of Philological Sciences and Senior Lecturer at the Department.

Such literary meetings help students gain a deeper understanding of literary works, develop critical thinking, and form their own views on issues of morality and spiritual values. At the same time, they contribute to promoting reading among young people, broadening their horizons, and strengthening their interest in literature as a source of intellectual and spiritual development.
